1. Who we are

Uninflate (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a grocery and household price comparison website at uninflate.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: When you create an account, we store the email address, display name, ZIP code, and avatar you provide. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are handled by our authentication provider using industry-standard hashing.
• Shopping lists: The products you add to a list and the lists you create are saved so you can access them across sessions. List customizations — such as your preferred category order — are saved to your account too, so your list looks the same on every device. Anonymous (logged-out) lists are stored only in your browser.
• Location data: We use your ZIP code to show prices from stores near you. ZIP codes are voluntary — you can browse without one and we will show typical national prices instead. If you choose, you can also let your browser share your precise GPS location so we can recalculate prices for the stores closest to where you are right now — handy while traveling. GPS location is only requested with your explicit permission, is used solely to find nearby stores, and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties. You can revoke location permission at any time in your browser settings and continue using a ZIP code instead.
• Usage data: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (country/region level), and basic device and browser information. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to collect this data. We have turned off Google’s advertising/personalization features, so this information is used only for aggregate analytics, not to build advertising profiles or show you personalized ads. • Price data: Product and price information is gathered from retailer sources on a scheduled basis. This is catalog data, not personal data.

3. Cookies and local storage

We keep tracking to a minimum. Here is an honest, complete list of what we set:

• Authentication cookies: When you sign in, a session cookie is set so you stay logged in and the Service knows who you are. These are required for the account features to work and are removed when you sign out.
• Browser local storage: Your shopping lists (and, when logged out, your selected ZIP) are saved in your browser so they persist between visits. This data never leaves your device unless you create an account, at which point your lists are associated with your account.
• Google Analytics cookies: We use Google Analytics to measure aggregate traffic and usage. Google sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions. We have disabled Google’s advertising and personalized-advertising features, so these cookies are used for analytics only — not for advertising, cross-site tracking, or remarketing.
• Essential/functional only: We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or marketing-remarketing tags.

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and remove any logged-out shopping list data.

4. How we use information

• To show prices from stores near your ZIP code.
• To save and sync your shopping lists when you have an account.
• To send messages you request (such as password resets).
• To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
• To aggregate usage and pricing trends — never sold or shared in a way that identifies you individually.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share your data with retailers or third parties for their marketing.
• We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

6. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the Service: an authentication and database provider for accounts and data storage, Google Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement, and retailer price feeds (for example, Kroger) for catalog and pricing information. These providers process only the data needed to provide their function and are bound by their own privacy policies. Google Analytics data is processed by Google under its privacy policy.

7. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us — we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period. Anonymous, logged-out list data is stored only on your device and is removed when you clear your browser storage.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of certain data practices. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through our contact form.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, note them on the Service.
